Q: WHATS THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN MY WHEELS?

A: Soap and warm water.

We recommend the frequent cleaning of your wheels with a non-acidic-based soap and water.  Things from exposure to the elements and even the inevitable brake dust that will get onto wheels can corrode the protective clear coating on the wheels. Brake dust if left on wheels for a lengthy amount of time turns acidic and can eat through the protective clear coating. Treat your wheels finish like you would treat the finish of your painted, clear coated vehicle and you should have a long and fantastic appearance of your wheels!

Q: I LIVE IN A HARSH AREA / TAKE MY VEHICLE OFFROAD, COULD THAT IMPACT THE FINISH OF MY WHEELS?

A: In short, YES! Living in a harsh climate (such as with harsh winters) and taking your vehicle offroad can create issues for the overall finish and appearance of your wheels.

This is not the case with just Mamba product. This is the case with ALL wheels. Our recommendation to those who must keep their wheels on through harsh weather is to clean them FREQUENTLY. The frequency will depend on the amount of use, and exposure however removing the chemicals that cause corrosion to the wheels as soon as possible is the key. The chemicals used on the roads are extremely corrosive and will eat through the protective clear coating on the wheels. That is why removing these chemicals will prolong the finish on your wheels. As far as offroading with your wheels you most likely already understand how this will affect the finish. Debris and contact with elements that are experienced during the rugged periods when a vehicle is taken off-road will scratch and begin to degrade the protective clear coating on the wheels. While this is common sense for most offroaders and goes without saying, any precaution taken to reduce this will also help to prolong the finish.

Q: WHERE CAN I BUY MAMBA WHEELS?

A: Great question…first, try our dealer locator.  If that doesn’t help, read below…

Our dealer locator only lists DIRECT authorized Mamba Dealers.  Just because a dealer may not be listed doesn’t mean there isn’t a dealer in your area that sells Mamba Off-road Wheels.  Many retail shops have wholesale accounts with larger wheel distributors in their areas that are valid Mamba Distributors.  In this case they can ABSOLUTELY get the product from those distributors.

Q: CAN I BECOME A MAMBA DEALER?

A: For more information on that please read more here: BECOME A MAMBA DEALER

Q: HOW CAN I TELL IF A MAMBA WHEEL IS DISCONTINUED?

A: Knowing if a Mamba wheel is discontinued is an important fact.

You can use this information to find out if the wheels you are purchasing from a retailer, or anywhere for that matter, are still a current product.  Also, it can help you to find out if replacement wheels may still be available for your vehicle if needed.  If a wheel is not under the CURRENT WHEELS tab then the wheel is discontinued.  You can use the DISCONTINUED WHEELS tab to look and ID a previous Mamba Wheel.

Q: WHAT LUG NUTS ARE ON MY WHEELS?

A: If you’re looking for replacement lug nuts or need a special key…read more below!

Mamba Wheels only produces wheels for your vehicle.  The hardware (lugs) that you may find on your wheels would have been ordered and possibly installed by the dealer or retailer where the purchase was made.  Mamba wheels do not supply installation hardware with the wheels.  With a handful of major lug nut brands available and a bunch more in the marketplace, it would be extremely difficult for us to identify which hardware you have on your vehicle.  That is why we strongly recommend that you return to the original place of purchase or a trusted local wheel and tire professional in your area.

Q: BEFORE I INSTALL MY CENTER CAPS WHAT SHOULD I DO?

A: Not much, all of the hardware should be included for the installation of the caps. However….read more below!

Your installer should always put a small dab of anti-seize on the center caps screws that hold the center cap to the wheel before installing. This will ensure they do not get stuck in the wheel due to corrosion as time goes on.

Q: DO I NEED HUB-CENTRIC RINGS?

A: We always recommend hub-centric rings for an installation.

Most issues related to vibration occur because of the failure to install Hub-centric rings.  We do not supply hub-centric rings with the wheels.  The installer should ensure they order or have the appropriate hub-centric rings for each individual application.

Q: WHEN I GO OFFROADING I “AIR DOWN” CAN THIS CAUSE PROBLEMS?

A: Of course, it can.

Whenever you choose to use a wheel and tire ASSEMBLY below your vehicle manufacturer’s approved and recommended tire pressures you run the risk of having a failure or causing damage. This failure or damage could come to the tire, the wheel, both, or even you or your vehicle depending on the nature of which it is being used. Also, keep in mind that the nature in which you use your wheels should match the design you choose. SEE THE QUESTION BELOW FOR MORE RELATED!

Q: WHEN CHOOSING A WHEEL MODEL ARE THERE THINGS I SHOULD CONSIDER OTHER THAN LOOK?

A: YES!  Make sure you select a wheel that matches your intended use.

Choosing a wheel design is more than just picking what looks best. There are somethings you should consider when making your decision. This is relevant no matter what brand of the wheel you choose. Wheel finishes will hold up the best when not used in harsh elements / environments and when they are cared for and washed frequently. For example: if you live in harsh areas you may want to consider choosing a wheel without machining. A painted wheel finish will hold up better to harsher conditions.

If you “Air Down” for offroad use you may not wish to choose a wheel that has cosmetic protrusions that extend past the wheel face edge. These things may find themselves more susceptible to damage or even cause damage to a tire if the tire is pinched between an element and the wheel. Offroad use of wheels are at the vehicle users / owners risk.

If you do a lot of towing or pulling you should make sure you consider the correct load capacity of wheels and tires to ensure that you and your vehicle have the proper match.

These are just some things you should consider when choosing a design. If you have any other questions, please feel free to CONTACT US
